This painting features an Andalusian horse accompanied by a Black-billed Magpie.
A while ago I conceived a series of paintings where horses were paired with birds, symbolically representing Pegasus, the great winged steed from Greek mythology.
The gold paint conveys a sense of preciousness and the wingtips of the bird delicately overlap the horse's neck, connecting the two in an intricate dance.

My creative process is an intuitive one...
I go where inspiration takes me, striving to release the need to control outcomes. My job as an artist is to step back and leave space for the character and personality of my subjects to inhabit the work.
"Inspiration drives me to express the spirit and essence of animal and fantasy subjects with honesty, respect and passion."
