The mythical wings of Pegasus... I have always been drawn to the beautiful winged steed from Greek Mythology. He represents absolute freedom and untamed joy as he soars through our imagination.
I purposefully made his wings very large to convey a reality of how large they would have to be to support a horse in flight. Only the tips of the lower wing attach to the stone base to increase the feeling of motion as he completes a wide lazy circle.
Patina is silver nitrate over black. The sculpture is hand cast bronze using the lost wax method. Edition for this piece is 36.

My creative process is an intuitive one...
I go where inspiration takes me, striving to release the need to control outcomes. My job as an artist is to step back and leave space for the character and personality of my subjects to inhabit the work.
"Inspiration drives me to express the spirit and essence of animal and fantasy subjects with honesty, respect and passion."
