Crowned Cranes are stately African birds whose beautiful black cap and pale gold spray of crown feathers makes a stunning impression. These long-legged birds are quite large and very elegant – a gorgeous painting subject.
As an artist, the light is what makes a subject inspiring to me. I could paint almost anything if the highlights and shadows are dramatic and full of chiroscruro.

My creative process is an intuitive one...
I go where inspiration takes me, striving to release the need to control outcomes. My job as an artist is to step back and leave space for the character and personality of my subjects to inhabit the work.
