Hummingbirds are one of my favorite subjects. For this fellow, during the patina process, we buff back the green to expose the raw bronze hight lights, to represent the bird's throat gorget. The beauty and variation of the surface patina, and the glossy reflection from the metal adds a delightful depth to this little guy's personality.

My creative process is an intuitive one...
I go where inspiration takes me, striving to release the need to control outcomes. My job as an artist is to step back and leave space for the character and personality of my subjects to inhabit the work.
"Inspiration drives me to express the spirit and essence of animal and fantasy subjects with honesty, respect and passion."
