While sitting in an open-air cafe in the historic town of Ronda, Spain, I saw this lovely carriage horse walking past, his hooves ringing on the cobbles of the square.
The cast shadows and highlights were a painter's delight and I created the piece before leaving the next day, having gotten a few choice photos of him as he went by.
The coffee was superb as well...
