There are very few Siberian Tigers left in the wild. As a painter and sculptor whose work features primarily wildlife subjects, it is important for me to know and understand some of the issues facing these extraordinary creatures.
My Golden Creatures series is about conveying the divine thread that runs through all life. The golden scrollwork and background colour is done with iridescent Renaissance gold oil paint so its metallic quality shifts and changes as you move around the painting. The scrolling surrounds the tiger both as background and foreground as he walks, enveloped by the spirit of life.

My creative process is an intuitive one...
I go where inspiration takes me, striving to release the need to control outcomes. My job as an artist is to step back and leave space for the character and personality of my subjects to inhabit the work.
"Inspiration drives me to express the spirit and essence of animal and fantasy subjects with honesty, respect and passion."
