The Bowron Lake Chain "You are here" - Topographical map and watershed.
C$1,400
The fascinating part about this painting is how your eye focuses on the scenery first and then the topographical map as you step-in closer for a better look. To really get a better understanding of this artists concept, it might be best to first look closely at the topographical map. Then for the 'red dot' in the bottom righthand corner of the painting. From there look towards the centre of the painting; this is your view (when you are actually there) of the painting that you would see from this point on the topographical map with a cabin behind you, on your paddling trip around the Bowron Lake Chain. Each mountain is a feature on the map as well as on the painting, do you see it?
(hint; as lines are closer together this indicates steeper terrain and the further apart they are this indicates flat terrain, or even a marshy area).
This stunning provincial park in central BC is visited by many people from places around the globe.
You might also notice the 'blue lines' on the topographical map, this indicates the vastness of the watershed, another important subject in todays world that the artist wishes to highlight.
