About the Artwork

Approaching the city of Lillooet on Highway 99, I was overwhelmed by the power of the mountain gorge and the sheer cliffs looming over the winding road. I wanted to spend a few days here, capturing these giants on canvas. I turned onto an inconspicuous dirt road, which soon sharply ascended into the mountains. There, at a kilometer above the road, I painted this view of the gorge and the road below.
