This piece is a semi-abstracted coastal seascape, featuring bold texture and unabashed brushstrokes to capture a sense of atmosphere and movement. As with most of my work, this coastal landscape reflects both my stylized interpretation of the scenery itself, but also my own emotions and reaction to it. As an artist, moody and atmospheric nature scenes inspire a feeling of introspection within me. The shifting clouds/storms in our Vancouver skies remind me of time passing, and how I must appreciate and never stop exploring during my short time on this planet: Life is a brief journey to be savoured. This painting is created on 1.5" deep gallery stretched canvas, is finished with high-gloss varnish, and is painted in a complementary dark indigo blue on the sides. It's titled, signed and dated on the back.

"My aim is to capture brief moments in Nature's enduring history and translate them, along with the emotions they evoke within me, into paint on canvas. Sublime and somewhat veiled. Art allows us, as humans, to explore the mystery of the world around us and seek out tangible answers.""
