Heather Curry of XQZME Art and Design Studio was born in Vancouver, BC. During her early upbringing, she became strongly influenced by the combination of both the natural surroundings and ethnic diversity of this city. Heather chose to enhance her painting by using hemp within the foreground, and distant foliage. And then she created the outcrop of rocks by using a thick layer of acrylic. She felt it helped to emphasize their structural impact in the frozen water. And most importantly, she embellished the painting by using gold leaf to refract light. This provides the appearance of a sea breeze.
