I enjoy depicting the "everyday" in my work. I see "extraordinary", in ordinary life. Heritage homes, and their neighbourhoods are a favoured subject of mine. This particular piece is loosely based upon a corner in downtown Nelson, BC. A cluster of tightly situated heritage homes. Each one very unique to it's neighbours, and all, brimming with character. I introduced collage into this piece as I felt it added additional character, and a real sense of the weathering these structures have endured over the years.
