This initially started as a Plein air painting. There were some areas that needed to be resolved and changed as the painting sat for a while in the studio. This resulted in a change of a representational painting to an abstract one. Embracing a need for change in style, colour, subject matter, or composition is part of the growth of being an artist. We sometimes need to change to look at our progress and process differently. Making a significant change to a piece of artwork can be worthwhile and exciting. In this piece there are hints of representational elements within the abstract elements to help the viewer through the painting. There are colour passages of late August which will eventually usher in a new and changing season on the horizon.
