I was fascinated by the frozen colours of the stream and was excited to paint it even at minus 6 degrees. I witnessed the subtle changes of the greens tones of the iced water over the periods of time as it was being painted. This still stream, frozen, it seems in time will once again be flowing freely as the seasons come and go. The light on the snow banks will change as the earth revolves around the sun changing from light to darkness, from one season to another. The snow will reveal renewed grass and undergrowth of new colours and textures. Change is never static, it’s constant.
