Olga Bunevich
Burnaby, metro Vancouver, British Columbia
Artist residing in Vancouver, though her roots lie in the culturally rich region of Crimea. Her creative practice seamlessly merges surrealism, symbolism, and philosophical inquiry, enabling me to explore complex themes. The breathtaking landscape of her childhood near the Black Sea has profoundly shaped her artistic vision, instilling in her a deep appreciation for nature's intricate beauty.
In her artwork, she explores the delicate balance between the soul and reality, as well as the interconnectedness of humanity and the natural world. She strives to capture the essence of these relationships, revealing how self-reflection can uncover emotional truths and lead to a deeper understanding of sacred knowledge.

My works are meditations on how the soul emerges through reflection, and how art fosters empathy by mirroring our most sacred internal experiences. I believe that artists are not only creators of images but also translators of cultural emotion.
