Jolene Aarbo
Errington, British Columbia
Jolene Aarbo is a Vancouver Island artist based in Parksville, British Columbia, whose work celebrates the wild beauty and atmosphere of Canada’s West Coast. Working primarily in soft pastel, as well as acrylic and oil, she creates Impressionist-inspired landscapes, wildlife paintings, and animal portraits characterized by expressive colour, luminous light, and a strong sense of movement.
Inspired by the ever-changing coastal environment, Jolene explores the interplay of light, weather, water, and land, seeking to capture not only the appearance of a place but the feeling of experiencing it. Her love of animals, particularly horses, also informs her work.
A graduate of the Alberta College of Art, Jolene brings her design background to her thoughtful compositions and distinctive visual storytelling.
