Jo C Willems
Black Creek, British Columbia
After pursuing several degrees in Sciences (BSc) and Fine Arts (MFA studio), she settled into life as an artist. Her love of the forest led her to hike the Pacific Crest Trail and the Continental Divide, painting along the way. Jo tries to capture as much detail of the forest so viewers would experience it as a whole.
"The most distinctive aspect of Jo C. Willems' artwork is her trails. They snake and weave through the trees, alpine meadows and snow, rich texture and detail, sometimes fading into the distance, and other time getting lost in the background." Alex Cooper. Jo's work is in many private collections and represented by the Alpine Echo Gallery in Revelstoke, BC,

It's not just the journey of the trail, it's also the journey of using all the elements in an image as the medium. It is not just the paint but it's the trees, rocks, grass... I use each of those parts to create a visual journey.
