Why chickadees should be our national bird: One, they live pretty much everywhere in Canada. Two, they stay here all winter. Three, they embody the Canadian spirit with their cheerful demeanor even in the coldest of temperatures. We Manitobans have a great respect for these tiny but tough birds.
