When I was working on this plein air by the Whitemouth River in Elma, MB, one of the neighbors came down and told me that artist and bronze sculptor Leo Mol had painted in almost the same spot, facing the other direction. His painting title is mis-spelled as "Alma Manitoba". The rocks he depicted in the foreground are the rocks I was standing on. Two artists united across the decades by our attraction to the same lovely spot.
