I grew up on the west coast surrounded by mountains and damp coniferous giants. When we moved up to Fort St John in the northeast corner of BC, I was skeptical when my coworkers said people move here and never leave. The trees were spindly and the plains landscape dry and vast. A few short weeks later, I instantly feel in love with the Peace Region during the short vibrant autumn season, where the white picket fence forest explodes with colour against the cloudless icy sky.
