About the Artwork

I wanted to create a piece that brings me joy for this exhibition, for it's the small joys in life that make it meaningful - like the joy my dog Ralph feels running around in the sun. As an extra challenge for myself, I also wanted to create the impression of motion despite being confined to such a small canvas. With our long and cold winters here in Fort St John, summer is Ralph's favourite season because he gets to be outside for a large chunks of time.
