Susan is a Toronto based mixed media artist. Painting since 2006, and full time since 2018, her focus is figurative abstraction. She begins by creating abstract collages composed of found and made papers. Her next step is to integrate imagery from either life drawing sessions or from personal photographs. The relationship between the figure(s) and their background has become metaphor: we are our contexts, all of us connected with responsibilities to one another and to the world around us. Her work can be found in private collections throughout Canada, the U.S.A and the U.K.
