Rosalie Olson is a contemporary painter known for her abstracted landscapes with expressive brush marks, visual texture, and sense of light. Living and working in Manitoba, Rosalie’s commitment as a full-time artist began seven years ago after twenty-plus years as an independent business consultant. Mainly self-taught, Rosalie sees how her early paintings in watercolor and love for transparent layers followed by exploring texture with acrylic bring important connections to her current work in oils. Her style is to paint intuitively with a natural affinity for abstraction so to strike a poetic balance between abstraction and expressionism. She is an Associate Signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA).
"My work presents a sense of atmospheric beauty, luminous light and just enough delicate detail to draw the viewer to come closer and engage in my art in another way."
