Josée Duffhues is inspired by nature and dismayed by climate change. Born in the Netherlands, raised in North Queensland, Australia, and arriving in Canada in her teens, Josée became independent at an early age. She always found solace in nature. A potter since 1979, she decided to return to painting when cold and damp clay disagreed with arthritis. The amazing range of acrylics available now have allowed her to find her joy. Her fine art studies at the University of Waterloo left her feeling dejected because oil paint caused migraines, and acrylics were not great at that time. Her work has been juried into numerous FCA shows, Sooke Fine Art Shows and Ladysmith Fine Art Shows.
