FRACKING – Terra Mater # 2
Textured with crackle paste and silica sand, and inspired by global warming.
Earth, our only home, is heating up.
We frack, we mine, we extract.
We poison the planet with greed.
Extinctions… more lost each year.
Denials continue as 1% takes.
Fear drives the 99% and wedges
Of hate and envy grow.
Napoleonic riches and serfdom –
A cycle that destroys all hope
Returns to illustrate that we continue
Believing that we have dominion
We have power
It is all a lie
The Robber Barons never left.
Revolutions never truly change the landscape

Joseé Duffhues
Ladysmith, British Columbia
Josée loves bold colours and strong themes, particularly about the impact of climate change. Her paintings are largely intuitive abstracts with added textures or collaged acrylic skins.
"Life's greatest lessons can be found out of doors. Textures created by moss or lichens inspire many of my paintings."
