Laura Dirk is an abstract expressionist using vivid colour and line to express the energy of life. Laura explores a variety of concepts in landscape, floral, figure and still life. With a degree in Fine Art from the University of Guelph, Laura has reconnected with her art after a 25 year career in business. Laura is also known for her expressive illustrative work and quirky style merging traditional and abstract genres.
My journey with abstract expression engages the viewer to notice the unexpected in our surroundings. I’m intrigued with the balance and discourse of nature and urban life. My work portrays the dark with a ray of lights offering hope and joy in our ever changing and challenging world.
