The Fergus Pool was a vibrant community space from nearly 100 years. Sadly it was paved over for a parking lot and stands somewhat reduced today at the intersection of highway6 and the Main Street along the Grand River in Fergus Ontario. The artist captures the dichotomy of a once vibrant fluid Slice of Life reduced to forgotten concrete.

Laura Dirk is an abstract expressionist using vivid colour and line to express the energy of life. Laura explores a variety of concepts in landscape, floral, figure and still life.
"My journey with abstract expression engages the viewer to notice the unexpected in our surroundings. I’m intrigued with the balance and discourse of nature and urban life. My work portrays the dark with a ray of lights offering hope and joy in our ever changing and challenging world."
