Wendy Haffner
Abbottsford, British Columbia
I started my art career as a Glass artist for 18 years. Schooled at the Alberta University of Art, formerly ACAD. I was faculty there for 4 years. I focused on larger scale, constructed pieces of hand blown or kiln formed pieces. this allowed for unique sculptural pieces.
I work within the Art Department in film for 25 years. This always allowed me to research history, work with amazing colour palettes and push the limits of reality.
Painting is an outlet for me. It brings me freedom of expression, peaceful studio time, yet struggles for advancement.
I like to primarily work large with strong color, maybe reminicent of my love of glass.
Organic landscapes but with occasional twists of Urban influence.
