Heather Beaton AFCA
Okotoks, Alberta
A passion for nature’s colour harmonies inspires Heather Beaton’s paintings of Western Canada and Nova Scotia. After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan, Heather moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia and began her painting career.
During a twenty-five year period, Beaton’s work was shown in fine art galleries in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario, and she taught at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University. In 2008, Heather moved to British Columbia to fulfil her dream of painting the Rocky Mountains.
Beaton’s work is featured in the book From Land and Sea, the Nova Scotia Art Bank Collection, the Rossignol Cultural Center in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and private collections across North America.

The creative act cannot be corralled into submission. It is forever free — the grand adventure in which we open our hearts and intellects to the possibilities of the moment.
