Christine Tunnoch
North Vancouver, British Columbia
Chris considers herself an unplanned artist. She has always been inspired by nature and it is reflected in her work. Having done illustrations since an early age, her pen and ink work has appeared in various natural history guidebooks and interpretive signs. She ventured into painting purely by chance. While it would seem like a natural progression from illustration work, the leap onto canvas was solely based on a rather fascinating conversation with a psychic. Since finding her comfort zone with oil paints, she is now an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and a signature member with Artists for Conservation.
"Have you ever stood in a forest after a spring rain and really looked at, or even tried to count, all the amazing shades of green? It's impossible and fantastic all at once. Nature is true magic, flashing her brilliance at us all the time...when we remember to look"
