One of my favourite spots in central Alberta is in and around the Donalda Coulee! The scenery and abundance of moose (if I'm lucky enough to see them) are spectacular! One morning as I was leaving the coulee I came upon this marshy area right on top of the hill. It was so peaceful. The grasses reflecting in the water kept my attention. I stood for the longest time taking it all in, watching shadows change, feeling the warmth come as the sun rose. It's places like this I love to revisit, as my quest continues for those moose and other spectacular moments! Drought has left so many of our sloughs dry. I miss seeing the abundance of water this area once had, and I really appreciate now when I do happen by locations like this.
