I recently enjoyed a few evenings of painting en plein air in a sunflower maze in Saanichton. Engulfed in sunflowers my artist friends and I marvelled at the splendor surrounding us.I decided to take this joyful flower into my studio and created Sunshine in a Vase. The blue in the porcelain and table top compliment the warm yellows in the flowers and the shadows create depth and drama in this elegant still life painting.
