About the Artwork
A morning summer walk along sunlit shoals with a beautiful light and shadow effect, inspired me to paint this piece. A warm transparent glowing underpainting was layered with warm and cool opaque colours to capture the intense light on the rocky shoals and colour harmony throughout. A quintessential west coast scene.
