Window views... my paintings are a response to current global climate catastrophes. Work on my original INDUSTRIAL SOLITUDES series has now morphed into a response to fires very close to home. It seems I'm always thinking about our planet and her suffering through our carelessness. In abstracted scenes offering a view into the colours constantly haunting my dreams and materializing on my canvases, I hope to gather support for greater efforts to reduce carbon emissions and save the planet for our grandchildren. Edging on this painting appears as an exotic faux wood finish. The work has also received gloss varnish

Joseé Duffhues
Ladysmith, British Columbia
Josée loves bold colours and strong themes, particularly about the impact of climate change. Her paintings are largely intuitive abstracts with added textures or collaged acrylic skins.
"Life's greatest lessons can be found out of doors. Textures created by moss or lichens inspire many of my paintings."
