On my way back to Airdrie from Cochrane, Alberta, I was struck by the striped colour fields and stormy clouds as they rolled along the skies. I pulled onto a gravel road and sketched the scene, capturing colour notes and the feeling of those heavy, dark clouds which I painted as soon as I arrived home.

Veronica Funk
Airdrie, Alberta
Veronica Funk was raised in northern Manitoba, studied Art & Design at Red Deer College and is currently studying Art History through Thompson Rivers University. The focus of her work is to create stories through layers of acrylic colour and pattern, inspired by contemporary street art.
"Even after completing and exhibiting my work numerous times throughout the years, I still question myself. I wonder if I'm good enough but then remind myself to focus on the process, not the end results."
