Veronica Funk
Airdrie, Alberta
Veronica Funk was raised in northern Manitoba, studied Art & Design at Red Deer College and is currently studying Art History through Thompson Rivers University. The focus of her work is to create stories through layers of acrylic colour and pattern, inspired by contemporary street art. Her work has been exhibited and is found in private and corporate collections. She is a juried Member of the Alberta Society of Artists, has been the recipient of the Federation of Canadian Artists Tinyan Chan Award and the Fortis Alberta Professional Artist Award, and has also been recognized for her contributions to the growth of arts and culture in Alberta through the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Distinguished Artist and Soul of Airdrie nominations.
Even after completing and exhibiting my work numerous times throughout the years, I still question myself. I wonder if I'm good enough but then remind myself to focus on the process, not the end results.
