About the Artwork
Today, the “Great Canadian Landscape” is more local than grandeur, but we can still note the style the Gof7 made famous in the painted Canadian landscape. This scene derives inspiration from Tom Thompson’s use of unusual colours combinations and strong patterns brought to the stand level; in this case, a Douglas fir stand commonly found in the southern Coastal BC landscape.
