About the Artwork
Camping on Manitoulin Island I came across these
canoes placed as if waiting for the owners to return and continue their voyage. I liked the simplicity of the setting and the strong colour contrasts.The textures of the various grasses within the marsh were challenging to paint.the light was softly overcast but set a mood that I found appealing.
