About the Artwork
I have passed this old homestead many times on my way to Georgian Bay and promised myself one day to capture this setting in a painting.There was a lot of overgrowth to try and simplify by suggesting with light and dark values then gradually adding more detail in the foreground. There are a number of old abandoned farms to be found in northern Ontario with interesting stories to tell about early farming experiences.
