This painting was inspired by an afternoon spent painting en plein air at the Coutt's Centre for Western Canadian Heritage in Nanton, Alberta. The three tired poppy garden with 13 beds of self seeding poppies is an impressive sight to see.

Melanie MacVoy
Fernie, British Columbia
Proficient in acrylics, Melanie’s paintings feature interior old growth cedar trees and rocky mountain landscapes. Each painting begins with a journey of exploring and painting outdoors “en plein air."
"When I take a deep breath of this atmosphere, rich with oxygen and life, my spirits are renewed and I’m inspired to paint."
