Many consider the California poppy to be an invasive weed, but personally, I am cheered by the sight of the bright gold and orange blooms that have just enough height to sway in the breeze. Here they are pointing the way to Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site, near Victoria, BC.

Every day I experience something in nature that invokes a response: a need to create and express an instance in time. I love the challenge of creating texture, reflection, and light. I'm grateful to live where this is evident in abundance each day.
