I had been driving around the waterfront looking for a painting subject. It was near sundown when I came across this scene.
Perfect! And I was ready.
I propped my support board holding my watercolour paper against the steering wheel.
My paints and brushes were right at hand on the passenger seat.
I painted quickly. The lighting, the shapes, everything was perfect,
No need to relocate objects in the scene. Just record what lay before me.
