The flow of the Milky Way Galaxy is mirrored by the flow of the Raush River, as it runs through an old growth temperate rainforest untouched by industry and logging. In 2023 the Simpcw First Nation declared the watershed an Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area. The river was originally called the Rivière au Shuswap, but later it was shortened to Raush. There is nothing like standing on a mountain and looking up at the stars, to make one feel like a small moment in a big and infinite universe.
