About the Artwork
I ventured out to Hicks Lake on several occasions over the last few years starting in the summer of 2019 and then a few times during the COVID pandemic. I had heard of Hicks Lake but didn't know just how impressive this lake is. It is a great place to canoe or kayak with wonderful forested shorelines and coves and boasts two small islands. It is a wonder why this location doesn't feature in more paintings. It even has a provincial camping site. There are plenty of scenes to paint here. NOTE: This painting is in a private collection.
