The coming of spring in Montreal is the time for tulips and spring flowers and the opening of our iconic Orange Julep drive-in restaurant. It's tradition for us to go there to celebrate spring!
This piece was created to commemorate the happy times we have had together through the years by recreating the Iconic orange colour of the building and jazzing it up with bright blooms.
The challenge for me in this piece was to create the subject within the larger forms so that the viewer makes the connection when viewed up close. A bit like the first sip of an Orange Julep in May.
