My artwork serves as a reflection of current global challenges, encapsulating the essence of authoritarian control, digital surveillance, and the fight for individual freedoms. Through my use of acrylic, casein, transparent watercolour, and India ink, I created texture and depth that resonates with the layers of political discourse and societal tension.
The predominant red hues evoke feelings of aggression and urgency.
The shapes serve as a visual metaphor for the overwhelming sense of powerlessness experienced under authoritarian regimes.
The intertwining lines represent the pervasive reach of digital surveillance, highlighting how technology is used to monitor and control the population.

Elyse Curial Art By Elysée
Vernon, British Columbia
Elyse paints using layers of acrylic, in a contemporary impressionist style. She enjoys painting a variety of subjects, from landscapes to urban scenes, florals, animals, and people. Elyse signs her work with "Elysée", her creative persona. It means "imbued with bliss".
"My painting process is like being a journalist, asking my muse: who, what, where, when, and how - as I weave a visual story infused with a little bit of mystery."
