Elyse was born in Edmonton, Alberta into a large French family. Raised on an acreage, she was immersed in nature, free to play and explore her surroundings. She believes that living under a big open sky has shaped her perspectives on life and all of her creative endeavours.

Elyse's art journey began in earnest in 2015. Curiosity and life experience continually influences her work. She primarily uses acrylic paints, and enjoys painting a variety of subjects in a contemporary impressionist style - from natural landscapes to urban scenes to florals, animals and people.

Elyse Curial signs her work with "Elysée", her creative persona. It means “imbued with bliss”.
