Smuggler's Cover is one of the most beautiful parks to visit along the Sunshine Coast and is only a short ferry ride from Vancouver. Smuggler's Cove Provincial Park is named after the 1920s and early 1930s bootleggers who ran whiskey and rum across to the USA in fast motorboats from the various coves within this park during the American Prohibition period. Unique and incredibly picturesque, this park is the perfect location to go if you want breathtaking scenes to paint, with its forests, beaver pond, oceanfront views, and good, fairly level pathways and boardwalks. Bring food/water, your sketchbook, canvas, brushes, paints, and hiking boots.
