About the Artwork

An impressionist painting based on a poem called "Description of Girl on Bed". We don't know if the girl was the poet's lover, a fantasy, a dream or just a figment of his imagination. She certainly was his muse/inspiration in one way or another. I have used the poem (in the poet's own handwriting) as collage. The poem is embedded in the painting or the painting is in the poem. The separation of the two become less important. It is an invitation to the viewer to use his/her imagination and words to find clarity in the painting.
