About the Artwork

This pencil drawing is of a cowboy riding a Bronc at the Cleardale Rodeo, Summer of 2023 in Northern Alberta Canada. These small rodeos are at the heart of the Northern Alberta and BC rural communities. My inspiration comes not only from the sport itself, but from years of country living, and raising children that also are passionate about the local rodeos and farming life.

Jody Herman

Cecil Lake, British Columbia

I am a self taught artist originally from Northern Alberta, I now live in Northern BC not far from where I grew up. I specialize mainly in authentic western/country themed graphite art, pulling ideas from events that I have been to, or am a part of and from memories.

"The inspiration for my artwork comes from the authentic western life that my family and I live. I pull ideas from memories and local events that happen in our area and everyday life. I enjoy sharing those memories with people and it inspires me to keep creating."
