About the Artwork

This idyllic scene on the Princeton to Summerland road caught my eye and I knew I had to paint it. I wanted to make the background feel out of focus so as to not overpower the natural beauty of the old wooden fence. The wood effect was achieved using multiple glazed layers of watercolour at times straight from the tube.

Scott Pleydell-Pearce

Richmond, British Columbia

Scotts style can be described as bold, energetic, dynamic. He has the ability to draw and paint very accurately and also turn his hand to a looser style as well. He is inspired by many things in the world around him, figures, architecture, landscapes, seascapes, and mostly colour and light.

"Its all in the moment, that fleeting glance when the light hits just right and you find the perfect composition, then you capture the essence of what inspired you at that very moment in time, thats what my art is all about."
